Liverpool could delay a move for transfer target Ryan Gravenberch until next summer

A swoop for the highly-rated Dutch midfield talent Ryan Gravenberch could be put off until the next summer window at Anfield, according to reports from The Liverpool Echo.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had been backed to bring in a replacement for the outgoing midfield regular Gini Wijnaldum who has signed for Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germin after calling it quits on Merseyside.

Wijanldum’s exit left Klopp with a major void to fill in the centre of the park for Liverpool who have been linked with the likes of Brighton’s Yves Bissouma and the Ajax youngster Gravenberch since the transfer window opened.

Gravenberch is seen as a future star by Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool which explains the potential motive to delay extending a formal offer to land the 19-year-old starlet who has made big waves following his breakthrough in the Ajax ranks.

Klopp has enough midfield options at his disposal for the new season now underway with Naby Keita having been handed a successive run of games as of late and the teenage sensation Harvey Elliott also drafted in a midfield role.
