In a surprising turn of events regarding Jadon Sancho’s future at Borussia Dortmund next summer, the English international may be tempted to seal a move to Anfield rather than sign for long-term suitors Manchester United, reports The Mirror.
Sancho emerged as Manchester United’s primary target in this summer’s transfer window, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were unable to land the 21-year old’s signature due to Dortmund’s £108 million asking price and the United board’s proven inefficiently in the transfer market.
It is speculated that the Red Devils will enter the fray once again to make a move for the highly-rated Bundesliga attacker when the summer transfer window reopens next year, however, the Old Trafford giants may be rivalled this time by arch-nemesis Liverpool.
The Reds too are reportedly looking for attacking reinforcements for the first-team squad at Anfield, taking into account Roberto Firmino’s shallow form in front of the goal, and Mohammad Salah’s future looking uncertain amid links with Real Madrid.
Despite Diogo Jota’s signing this summer from Wolves in a £43 million worth deal, Jurgen Klopp will be on the lookout for more world-class names to add to his squad in order to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea within England’s top-flight fight for supremacy.
