Liverpool could move in for Barcelona winger Memphis Depay following Diaz injury setback

Liverpool could move in for Barcelona winger Memphis Depay in the January transfer window following the fresh injury setback for Luis Diaz.

Jurgen Klopp would be fretting over an extended spell on the sidelines for his first choice left-sided winger Diaz whose recovery from an injury he picked up in October has been halted by another lengthy lay-off.

Diaz has traveled back to Merseyside from Liverpool’s mid-season training camp in Dubai to undergo further scans on his injury and it appears that the Columbian international could be ruled out until March next year with the club yet to confirm a time frame.

According to a report from The Liverpool Echo, it is claimed that the Anfield giants could be keen to revive their interest in the former Manchester United frontman Memphis Depay who has been linked with an exit from Barcelona sooner rather than later.

The Dutchman has made just three appearances during the first half of the campaign and the Barca camp are willing to terminate his contract to make him a free agent which could make him an attractive buy for an injury-hit Liverpool side.
