Liverpool credited with an interest in signing Leicester City playmaker James Maddison

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in signing Leicester City playmaker James Maddison ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

Maddison is expected to leave the Leicester camp at the end of the season to seek a move to a bigger club and there has been no shortage of suitors across England wanting to move in for the highly-rated midfielder.

According to a report from Football Insider, it is claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are keen on Maddison’s signature as Klopp looks to revamp his underwhelming midfield roster over the summer by bringing in a fresh pair of legs.

Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham remains the top name on the shopping list for the Liverpool head coach but the intense competition for the former’s signature besides the hefty price tag could lead to Liverpool considering other alternatives.

Tottenham are the other Premier League heavyweight club keeping tabs on Maddison’s situation in the Midlands with Antonio Conte’s side given the opportunity to sign the playmaker for a fee in the region of £60-70 million.
