Liverpool have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners to sign Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister with the Reds stepping up their pursuit of the midfielder.
The Merseyside outfit are out to bolster their midfield ranks over the summer and Jurgen Klopp has decided to switch his focus elsewhere in the market after cooling his interest in long-standing transfer target Jude Bellingham.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, it is claimed that Mac Allister’s Brighton teammates believe that the Argentine World Star is heading to Anfield this summer in a major boost to Liverpool on the transfer front.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who enjoyed a terrific campaign with the world champions Argentina in Qatar last year, has suitors from across Europe chasing his signature after two stellar seasons on the south coast with Brighton.
With 10 goals and two assists from midfield for the Seagulls in all competitions this term, Mac Allister is said to be on the shopping list of the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea with the three clubs looking to sign a new midfielder.
