Liverpool eye a summer swoop for Dutch international Teun Koopmeiners

AZ Alkmaar first-team star regular Teun Koopmeiners has emerged as the latest entrant on Liverpool FC’s transfer radar heading into this summer’s window.

Reports from Calciomercato claim that with Jurgen Klopp looking to bolster his midfield options in light of Gini Wijnaldum looking certain to leave Anfield following the expiry of his current deal, the Liverpool FC boss has identified Koopmeiners as a probable incoming on Merseyside.

Koopmeiners’ influential form makes him a hot prospect across Europe

The AZ Alkmaar skipper has been a real threat in front of the goal this season, netting 17 times besides registering six assists, in as many as 37 outings on the pitch.

Italian outfit AS Roma also remain interested in the Holland international as the race heats up among the top sides across the continent to land his much-coveted signature ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

Liverpool see Koopmeiners as his compatriot Wijnaldum’s idle replacement

Wijnaldum’s imminent departure would come as a major blow to Jurgen Klopp and the Reds with the former Newcastle United star establishing his status at Anfield on the back of a consistent set of displays week in and week out.

However, Klopp’s resignation to losing out on his first-team star could be helped by making a swoop for the in-demand Koopmeiners who looks all set to make his name well-documented in the years to come.
