Liverpool face a stern challenge from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United to sign Franck Kessie from AC Milan next summer, according to reports from Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Fichajes).
Kessie is running down his contract at San Siro and is understood to be unlikely to pen extended terms with the Serie A giants beyond the end of the ongoing 2021-22 campaign.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international midfielder has his suitors in the transfer market and Liverpool have been credited with a strong interest in the AC Milan man with Jurgen Klopp on the search for midfield reinforcements.
Landing the coveted signature of Kessie on a free transfer in the next summer window will be of much value to Klopp and Liverpool who have been worrying over the financial constraints brought on about by the pandemic since last year.
Manchester United’s entry into the fray, however, will make things difficult for arch-rivals Liverpool with either side unlikely to back down from making a strong approach for the AC Milan contract rebel.
