Injury Update

Liverpool handed major injury boost ahead of Chelsea’s visit to Anfield

A major respite was available to Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp on his side’s never-ending injury list as Diogo Jota, Fabinho and Alisson Becker all took part in team training ahead of Chelsea making the trip to Anfield on Thursday.

Klopp’s men are due to play their fellow top-four challengers at their own patch in the midweek fixture list and the Reds gaffer had been sweating over the fitness levels of three of his key first-team regulars in the Anfield camp.

However, reports from Liverpool FC’s official website claim that Jota, Fabinho and Alisson were all in line to be selected for the forthcoming top-flight clash following the triplet being snapped training alongside their teammates at the club’s AXA Training Centre facility.

Jota had made a much-anticipated return to the first-team fold on Merseyside last week after his two-month-long knee injury layoff subsided for the best but the former Wolves man had been forced to miss his side’s victory away at Bramall Lane owing to an illness.

Alisson Becker, meanwhile, had to sit out the Sheffield United showdown after the Liverpool FC No.1’s father passed away in a tragic accident back in Brazil.
