Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi remains poised to call it quits on Merseyside this summer with interest brewing in the player from the likes of Belgian outfit Anderlecht and Union Berlin and Mainz in the Bundesliga.
Reports from The Echo claim that the Reds are in line to sanction the sale of Taiwo Awoniyi despite already turning down a €5 million bid that came their way from Anderlecht.
Liverpool are understood to be holding out for an £8 million payout which will further enhance Jurgen Klopp’s ability to spend on his desired targets this summer with a new central midfield player the priority for the German coach.

Awoniyi has never featured for Liverpool owing to UK work permit issues but the striker would be eligible to step out on the pitch in the Reds shirt only next season which now seems unlikely due to his transfer situation.
The Nigerian is understood to be eyeing a return to Germany where he has played before while on his loan spell away from Merseyside and Union Berlin and Mainz are the two clubs in the fray for the Liverpool man.
