Liverpool keen on signing Harvey Barnes as potential Sadio Mane replacement

Liverpool are understood to be keen on signing Leicester City wide man Harvey Barnes as a potential Sadio Mane replacement at Anfield.

Mane, along with his Reds strike partners Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, is set to turn 30 later this season and the rumour mill has suggested that Liverpool will be scouting the market for fresh blood.

Barnes is one name that has often been linked with a move to Merseyside in the past and Liverpool had been backed to keep tabs on the winger in this summer’s transfer window as well but a swoop from Jurgen Klopp’s camp never went through.

Reports from Fichajes claim that the Reds will be looking to follow up on their initial interest in the 23-year-old who has a long-term deal at the King Power Stadium running until 2025 and is valued highly by his coach Brendan Rodgers.

Attempting to land the Foxes first-team star is sure to be a costly affair for Jurgen Klopp and Co. considering Barnes’ importance to the Leicester City side who will aiming for a top-four finish this season in the Premier League.
