Liverpool are tipped to be keeping tabs on Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds joined by other Premier League giants in the chase for the promising attacking player.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Fichajes, it is claimed that Williams, who is the younger brother of Bilbao talisman Inaki Williams, has emerged on the transfer radar at Anfield.
The 22-year-old netted nine goals and provided twelve assists for Bilbao’s Division B side across the 20-21 campaign and his showings have earned him interest this summer from some of the biggest teams in England’s top flight.
Manchester United are also right in the mix for the young Spanish attacker which could potentially set the stage for an intense contest on the transfer front with arch rivals Liverpool over the forthcoming transfer windows.
A €50 million release, however, could put off his suitors in both Liverpool and Manchester United with the clubs expected to prioritise spending on big-money names to reinforce departments which required tinkering around with.
