Liverpool are reportedly leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund’s midfield talent Jude Bellingham with Jurgen Klopp an admirer of his ability in the middle of the pitch.
The Reds boss has been backed to bring in a fresh face for his Anfield roster sooner rather than later to bolster the midfield department which witnessed the exit of Gini Wijnaldum this summer.
Wijnaldum’s move to Paris Saint-Germain after five years of anchoring the Liverpool midfield means that Klopp needs to hasten his act of using the transfer market and bring in a viable replacement for the Dutchman.
Speculation has long linked the 18-year-old England international starlet Bellingham to an Anfield switch and reports from The Daily Star suggest that the Merseysiders are ahead of other clubs in what is a widely-contested race to sign the teenager from Dortmund.
Bellingham’s stock in world football has been on a tremendous rise since his transfer to the Bundesliga and it is understood that a move back to England, this time to the top-flight division, is on the cards for the former Birmingham City player.
