‘Liverpool look like the winning team to me’- Harry Redknapp on next season’s Premier League race

Ex-Tottenham Hotspurs and West Ham United boss Harry Redknapp predicts Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC side to retain their Premier League crown in the upcoming campaign.

The Anfield outfit stormed to title-winning glory last season, amassing a total of 99 points over the course of the league campaign.

Klopp’s men played a fantastic brand of football across the 2019-20 season, clinching the Premier League trophy after a gap of 30 years with seven games to spare, a new English top-flight record.

However, the ongoing summer transfer window has seen Liverpool FC’s domestic rivals, namely Chelsea and Manchester City strengthen their ranks with the arrival of new signings. On the other hand, Klopp has not been an active player in the transfer market, with Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas being the sole summer signing for the Reds.

But that has not deterred the belief of Redknapp, a highly respected figure within the English footballing community, of the Merseyside club’s chances of defending the Premier League trophy. While admitting that Liverpool FC’s rival clubs have been on the rise of late, the 73-year old put his money on the Reds of securing title-winning glory next season as well.

“Chelsea have performed well, Man Utd are getting stronger, Man City are going to try and win it back this year but I’m still going to go with Liverpool.”

“I think Liverpool look like the winning team to me.”
