Liverpool looking to pick up steam on transfers

Liverpool’s transfer activity is looking to pick up steam in the next week, so let’s look at a few players that have a real possibility of arriving at Anfield sooner rather than later.

While Liverpool is fairly well-supplied in the front third of the pitch, that hasn’t stopped Calciomercato from reporting that Juventus winger Federico Chiesa is on the Red’s transfer shortlist this summer. The winger, along with the entire Bianconeri team, had a poor 2022/23 season, with Juve failing to crack the top 6.

Liverpool is reportedly one of many teams interested in the £51m-valued winger. Real Madrid and Chelsea are also looking at him as a possible incoming. While there’s not much on this at the moment, we’ll have to wait and see where this story goes.

Ryan Gravenberch has been put on high alert, as Bayern Munich recently announced the signing of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig. According to The Mirror, Manchester United and Liverpool have been named as two clubs that are very interested in the midfielder. Liverpool is said to be at a more advanced stage regarding negotiations for Gravenberch, as the club hierarchy is said to be ready to wholeheartedly back Jurgen Klopp with his midfield pursuits.

The Dutch midfielder is yet to decide on his future, having mentioned that he would prefer more playing time at his current club. However, he also left things more open-ended, stating that he would take a decision on his future in the days after the U-21 UEFA Euro competition.

Liverpool is also reported to have beaten Manchester City to sign defender Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg. He’s seen as the ideal replacement for Joel Matip, who has only 12 months left on his current contract. 22-year-old van de Ven has a price tag of £26m, as reported by Spanish outlet El Nacional.
