Liverpool maintain interest in Bundesliga star Florian Neuhaus but no approach made yet

The Reds are still very much in the fray for long-term target Florian Neuhaus with the Borussia Monchengladbach man seen as an ideal replacement for Gini Wijnaldum in the Liverpool midfield.

According to Christian Falk, Liverpool’s interest in signing the 24-year-old Neuhaus remains upbeat but Jurgen Klopp’s side are yet to table a formal offer for the German midfield maestro.

Neuhaus’ transfer situation tipped to gain ground post the UEFA Euros

The player will be competing in the forthcoming UEFA European Championships which gives traction to rumours that Liverpool will seek to complete a swoop for him in the aftermath of the tournament.

Bayern Munich too had been earlier reported to be in line to extend an offer for Neuhaus who has earned plaudits for his displays in the Borussia Monchengladbach shirt.

Wijnaldum’s departure opens the door for Klopp to sign a midfielder

Gini Wijnaldum’s imminent exit was confirmed with Paris Saint-Germain emerging the shock victors in the race to sign the Holland international who had decided against extending his deal on Merseyside beyond this summer.

The loss of the former Newcastle United man means Klopp will be urged by many in and around Anfield to bring in a new player who will slot in in the centre of the park for Liverpool with names such as Neuhaus  and Brighton’s Yves Bissouma doing the rounds.
