Wolves are rumoured to be on the brink of tabling an opening offer for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with the fee reportedly being in the region of £25 million.
The English international’s game time at Liverpool FC may come under threat following the arrival of Thiago Alcantara, according to reports. Thiago signed for the Reds on a four-year deal and is widely tipped to be a regular starter for the Anfield giants under Jurgen Klopp.
With midfield options at Klopp’s disposal ranging from the experienced duo of James Milner and Jordan Henderson to the highly-rated teenager Curtis Jones, Chamberlain is bound to feel nervous about his first-team involvement this season in the Liverpool FC shirt.
As a result, Wolves are gearing up to entice Liverpool FC with an offer upwards of £25 million and take the ex-Arsenal man off their hands, while at the same time ensuring that the Premier League champions recoup a significant part of the £35 million paid to the Gunners for signing the midfielder three summers back.
The 27-year old Chamberlain’s potential switch to Wolves from the Reds would conclude a third transfer deal between the two top-flight clubs in England after Ki-Jana Hoever’s move to the Molineux and the subsequent arrival of Diogo Jota at the Merseyside.
