Injury Update

Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo set for a long spell on the sidelines with injury

Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo is set for a long spell on the sidelines with an injury as he is in line to undergo surgery this weekend.

The Brazil international, who made the move to Anfield on the summer’s deadline day, could be out for three to four months in a big setback for the Juventus loanee.

According to a report from The Athletic, it is claimed that Arthur will be on the recovery table at Liverpool in the near future after picking up an injury that would require surgery and curtail his game time for the coming months.

The 26-year-old midfield maestro has missed out on Tuesday night’s Champions League victory over Rangers after suffering an injury during the training session at Kirkby in the build-up to the game.

Arthur would be eyeing a return to the Liverpool fold upon the turn of the year at the latest in a blow to his plans of making an impact for his new side for whom he has clocked up just 13 minutes of first-team football since joining in the summer window.
