Liverpool FC seemed to have performed a major U-turn in regard to the goalkeeping spot in the squad following recent rumours that Stoke City’s Jack Butland was being eyed by the Premier League champions as a last-minute addition.
However, recent reports from the Mirror suggests that Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp will not entertain any chances of him attempting to make a move for the 27-year old Butland in the mini-domestic transfer window that runs until Friday.
Following a highly speculated six-week layoff for the first-choice Reds shot-stopper Alisson Becker due to a shoulder injury sustained in training, the Brazilian’s replacement between the sticks, Adrian, endured a horrid showing for Liverpool FC in the 7-2 loss to Aston Villa.
The Spaniard was responsible for gifting Dean Smith’s men the first goal of a Sunday afternoon at Villa Park before the Reds shipped six more goals to suffer their worst defeat in top-flight football since 1963.
However, it seems as if Klopp will be more than happy to continue with Adrian as the option in goal for Liverpool FC till the time Alisson stages a return to first-team action.
