Liverpool plan to hijack Chelsea’s move to sign German star Florian Wirtz

Liverpool are ready to hijack Chelsea’s move to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz in the upcoming transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.

Since joining BayArena in 2020, the 20-year-old has become recognized as one of the top young talents in Europe.

Given his impressive performances, it is not surprising that major clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea are considering the midfielder to strengthen their midfield.

Both English clubs were interested in securing the services of Wirtz in the previous transfer window, but Bayer Leverkusen was resolute in keeping the midfielder, preventing any move from materializing.

Despite the unsuccessful attempts last time, both teams are reportedly still interested in signing the youngster and have not given up their pursuit of the talented player.

Leverkusen are reluctant to part ways with their star midfielder for a low price and is seeking a minimum of £87 million for the player.

The interested parties may be hesitant to meet this high valuation in the January transfer window, but there is speculation that they could engage in a competitive battle for Wirtz at the end of the season.

However, both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have also expressed interest in securing the German’s signature.

Wirtz, who prefers the attacking midfield role, possesses technical skills, excels in short passes, creates opportunities for forwards, and contributes actively without possession.
