Liverpool plan transfer heist by luring Brazilian gem Luis Guilherme to Anfield

Liverpool’s interest in Andre Trindade is well-known, but the club is also keeping an eye on another Brazilian midfielder.

According to the Daily Express, the Reds are one of several top European clubs that have been tracking Palmeiras teenager Luis Guilherme for a long time.

The 17-year-old recently signed a new contract with his parent club, extending his deal until 2026, and it includes a release clause of €55 million (£47.7 million). However, the Sao Paulo club’s strategy is to prepare for a future sale of the player.

The attacking midfielder who will be 18 years old in February, has already played in 26 senior matches for Palmeiras, although often as a substitute.

He is known for his remarkable speed, and the club’s youth director, Joao Paulo Sampaio, mentioned how he left opponents “scared” during a tournament in which he scored over 40 goals. The youngster also referred to him as “a very special player.”

The contract extension at Palmeiras indicates their intention to sell him and maximize the transfer fee.

If Liverpool secures his signature, he could serve as a squad player, getting opportunities in domestic cup competitions, or possibly be loaned out for a season or two to gain experience in a competitive European league.

While it remains to be seen if the Merseyside club will pursue their reported interest in the coming weeks and months, Guilherme is undeniably an exciting prospect worth keeping an eye on.
