Tchouameni has earned rave reviews for his displays in Ligue 1 football with AS Monaco and many predict a big-money move to England’s top flight is on the cards for the youngster.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, it is claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside Reds are the frontrunners in what is a widely contested race to land the talented 22-year-old’s signature to bolster their midfield ranks heading into the new campaign.
Chelsea’s constraints on the ownership front in the aftermath of the UK government sanctions on Roman Abromaoch could make things very difficult for the west Londoners to do business in the transfer market despite their longstanding interest in Tchouameni.
Liverpool are likely to scout the market for midfield reinforcements with Gini Wijnaldum’s exit from the Anfield fold last summer opening the door for Klopp to bring in a viable replacement for the long-serving Dutchman who made the move to PSG.
