Sergej Milinković-Savić is one name that has been linked with a big-money move away from Lazio this summer and speculation is rife that Liverpool will be in the contest to land his signature.
Reports from an Italian news outlet Calciomercato claim that Jurgen Klopp’s side have touched base with the Serie A outfit for the prospects of signing the Serbian international midfielder ahead of the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
Despite Savic’s desire to turn out for La Liga giants Real Madrid should he stage an exit from Lazio this summer, it is understood that the Spanish club are not in line to table an offer for the 26-year-old which would come as a major boost on the transfer front to other clubs in the fray, including Liverpool.
The Merseysiders have remained on the hunt for a new midfield signing this summer following Gini Wijnaldum’s move to Paris Saint-Germain. With the boss Klopp having made only one purchase so far in the market, talk of him bringing in a couple of fresh faces before the window slams shut has gained ground.
