Liverpool ready to bid €80 million for Real Madrid star Federico Valverde

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Liverpool are prepared to make an astonishing €80 million (£69 million) bid to Real Madrid for their standout midfielder, Federico Valverde.

Valverde has been the subject of transfer speculation since the arrival of Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund.

Both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have signed new contract extensions, resulting in increased competition within Real Madrid’s midfield.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is familiar with Valverde from their previous encounters with Real Madrid in European competitions. The Uruguayan star provided the assist for Vinicius Jr’s winning goal in the 2022 Champions League final.

The report suggests that Real Madrid could find Liverpool’s offer very difficult to refuse. However, it would be surprising if the La Liga club allowed Valverde to leave, especially considering his recent statements expressing his desire to stay in the Spanish capital.

Manager Klopp has already made an addition to his squad by signing Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister, with the deal set to be officially announced on July 1.

Various players, including Nicolo Barella, Romeo Lavia, Khephren Thuram, and Dominik Szoboszlai, have been linked with transfers to Liverpool.

However, Klopp’s pursuit doesn’t end there, as he has still identified Valverde as his next target. The 25-year-old has been instrumental in Real Madrid’s recent success, playing a key role in their nine trophy wins since breaking into the first team in 2019.
