Liverpool ready to step up their efforts to sign Sofyan Amrabat

Liverpool are said to be ready to step up their efforts to sign Sofyan Amrabat with the Fiorentina midfielder a top name on Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist for the upcoming January transfer window.

Amrabat was one of the standout performers at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar with the midfield maestro emerging as Morocco’s anchorman in the centre of the park during their fantastic run to the semi-finals.

With interest from Europe’s biggest clubs high in securing his signature sooner rather than later, it should come as no surprise should Liverpool table an offer for Amrabat as early as in the coming weeks.

According to a report from the Italian news outlet Gazzetta, it is claimed that Liverpool are serious in their attempts to bring the 27-year-old to Anfield with Premier League rivals Tottenham also keen on the player.

He has 18 months remaining on his current terms with Fiorentina but there is an option for the Italian top flight side to extend that by a further year which would be concerning for his suitors in the market.
