Liverpool are said to be ready to swap Naby Keita for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic with the Reds looking to reinforce their midfield roster, according to Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb.
Injuries in recent seasons have plagued the Guinea international Keita whose current terms on Merseyside are due to expire in the summer and he is likely to move on following his fall down the pecking order in the Liverpool camp.
With Jurgen Klopp’s side seeking a fresh pair of legs to bolster the engine room options at Anfield, Inter Milan maestro Brozovic has emerged on the radar once again in the final days of the January transfer window.
Despite suggestions that it could be difficult for the Liverpool boss Klopp to recruit a new player in a mid-season move owing to squad registration rules, the Reds are eyeing up a swap deal for Brozovic with Keita going in the opposite direction.
Liverpool are certain to face competition for Brozovic’s signature with Spanish giants Barcelona equally keen on the Croatia international who was a pivotal figure in his country’s impressive displays at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
