Florian Neuhaus has rubbished speculation of him agreeing to sign for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich a summer in advance, giving Liverpool major ground in their attempts to sign the Germany international midfielder this summer.
The Borussia Monchengladbach first-team regular has emerged on Liverpool’s transfer radar ahead of the next season as Jurgen Klopp looks for options in the market to replace Gini Wijnaldum.
Wijnaladum’s exit from Anfield has left the Merseysiders on the lookout for a viable option to fill the void left by the long-serving Holland international who is on the verge of completing his move to FC Barcelona.
Speaking to TZ, the highly-rated Monchengladbach man denied any talks of him finalising upon a transfer to Bayern next summer as the 24-year-old asserted that he felt very much at home in the Monchengladbach colours.
“I read that my move to FC Bayern in 2022 was already a done deal. I can clearly deny that here and now,” Neuhaus said.
“I haven’t signed a contract anywhere except with Borussia Mönchengladbach. I feel very much at home there at the moment.”
“Home is a very important point for me. I can well imagine living in Markt Kaufering again later.
“But I also found a piece of home in Dusseldorf [after a loan spell at Fortuna in 2017-18], where I met my girlfriend, and I feel very comfortable at Gladbach.”
