Liverpool have reportedly registered an interest in signing Monchengladbach star Denis Zakaria when his stay in Germany comes to an end next summer.
The Swiss international midfield man will be out of contract at Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the 2021-22 season and Jurgen Klopp’s Reds camp are keeping close tabs on his contract situation, claim reports from BILD.
Klopp is keen to add to his midfield roster sooner rather than later after postponing his plans for this summer and Zakaria’s availability in the near future makes him a viable target for the Merseyside giants.
Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are also right in the mix for the 25-year-old Bundesliga talent who was linked with a move to Anfield in this summer’s transfer window when Liverpool were in the market for fresh blood.
Gini Wijnaldum’s switch to Paris Saint-Germain had forced Klopp to scout the market for reinforcements with the Liverpool boss looking at the likes of Zakaria and Brighton first-team star Yves Bissouma as his top names on the wishlist.
