Liverpool plotting a move for Yves Bissouma in the January transfer window

Liverpool are believed to be plotting a move for Brighton’s midfield man Yves Bissouma in the January transfer window ahead of rival clubs also in the fray for the Mali international.

Bissouma is a name that is top on a number of wishlists across England’s top flight and Liverpool are hoping to step up their interest in signing the player, according to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur.

Jurgen Klopp has been keeping close tabs on the 24-year-old midfielder who has enjoyed a great start to the new domestic campaign with Graham Potter’s Seagulls, surprising many with their incredible results of late against much bigger name opponents.

Gini Wijnaldum’s exit from the Anfield fold in this summer’s transfer window had upped the pressure on Klopp to bring in a replacement for the outgoing Dutchman and the Liverpool boss may be tempted to do that when the January window comes around.

Liverpool have suffered a double injury blow in the midfield department early on this season with Harvey Elliott set for a six-month-long layoff while Thiago Alcantara is in line to return after the forthcoming international break.
