Liverpool register interest in signing Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge

Sheffield United first-teamer Sander Berge has emerged on the radar of the Merseyside Reds leading up to this summer’s highly-anticipated transfer window.

According to reports from Eurosport, Jurgen Klopp’s side are understood to be in the line to make a move for the 23-year-old Berge in the hopes of adding to their already well-stocked midfield options.

Despite chances of a major overhaul in the Liverpool FC first-team ranks looking unlikely as per Klopp’s recent clarification, there is no doubt that the Reds gaffer would be lured to bolster his options in various departments.

However, the uncertainty cast upon Gini Wijnaldum’s long-term future at Anfield beyond the forthcoming summer could be a reason behind the Merseysiders plotting a move for the Blades star Berge as the former looks set to seek an exit at the close of this campaign.

The Blades are definite to suffer the drop to the Championship and with the recent departure of the long-serving boss Chris Wilder, speculation is rife that the highly-rated midfield talent Berge would choose to ask for a move away from Bramall Lane.
