Liverpool reject Al-Ittihad’s £150m offer for Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah

According to BBC, Liverpool have rejected an astonishing £150 million offer for their attacker Mohamed Salah from a Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad. The offer, which includes substantial additional clauses, pushes the total value well above £100 million.

The Reds have firmly stated that Salah is not available for transfer and considers the matter closed. Despite strong interest from the Saudi club, Liverpool remains resolute in keeping the Egyptian international.

One of Liverpool’s main concerns in this ongoing situation is the difference in transfer window closing dates. While the European transfer window closes today, the Saudi market remains open until September 7.

This narrow timeframe leaves Liverpool with less than ten hours to find a suitable replacement if they were even considering selling Salah.

Al-Ittihad are eager to acquire the forward, who is widely regarded as the most prominent Arab athlete globally, as they aim to strengthen their squad.

The substantial offer made by Al-Ittihad would shatter the transfer record in the Saudi Pro League. This record was recently set when Al-Hilal signed Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain for €90 million.

Despite Liverpool’s unwavering refusal, Al-Ittihad remains determined to pursue the 31-year-old winger. Their eagerness to secure his services is driven by their aspirations for success in the upcoming Club World Cup.

The city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, which is the home city of Al-Ittihad, is scheduled to host the prestigious tournament in December.
