Liverpool reportedly touch base with transfer target Pedro Goncalves

Sporting Lisbon starlet Pedro Goncalves is of interest to Liverpool FC’s forthcoming business in this summer’s transfer window, according to the latest claims from the Mirror.

The Portuguese has emerged as a real revelation for Lisbon since the turn of the campaign and has played a major role in helping Rúben Amorim’s men sit at the summit of the league standings, chipping in with 14 goals in just 15 outings.

Speculation persists that Liverpool FC’s horrific run of form of late would convince gaffer Jurgen Klopp to add reinforcements to his under-fire first-team ranks on Merseyside and the 22-year-old Goncalves’ fits the bill for the reigning champions to keep tabs on.

Goncalves’ quality in the centre of the park has come under huge applause and the Reds too might be keen on bolstering the central midfield spot come this summer in the wake of Gini Wijnaldum’s ever-increasing possibility of taking the exit door out of Anfield.

Long-term futures of the fringe likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain beyond the end of the ongoing campaign further add to chances of Klopp wanting to add to his options.
