Liverpool revive interest in signing Real Madrid midfield maestro Toni Kroos

Liverpool are backed as suitors for Real Madrid’s World Cup-winning midfield maestro Toni Kroos who could be in line to seal a move to England’s top flight in the near future.

Kroos has been one of the best players in his position in world football in the recent past and there is speculation that the Germany international is a top name on the shopping list at Anfield, according to reports from Spanish news outlet El Nacional.

Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a move for the Real Madrid man in the past only for his approach to be turned down by the La Liga heavyweights but an injury crisis in the midfield ranks on Merseyside could force Klopp’s hand sooner rather than later.

Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcantara have joined the injury list for Liverpool alongside a long-term absentee in the teenage starlet Harvey Elliott who is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after his injury earlier this season.

Fabinho too will be in line to miss Liverpool’s forthcoming game against Watford on Saturday with the defensive midfielder not due to return in time for the Vicarage Road showdown from his international duty in the break.
