Liverpool Star Conor Bradley Shines As Northern Ireland Drew Against Romania

Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley was the star of the show on Friday evening as Northern Ireland drew 1-1 against Romania in the Euros warm-up match.

The 20-year-old was given a 9/10 rating by the Belfast Telegraph for his powerful display from the flanks. The Reds’ star is proving to be a real game-changer both for club and country this season.

He was again the centre of attraction as his interception led to the Green Army scoring the first goal in the seventh minute. The youngster was active throughout the game with his magical burst of pace keeping the opponents busy.

Bradley’s gameplay gave a glimpse of how Jurgen Klopp has tried to utilise him in his wing-attack style of play. Similarly to Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Irish star has been given the role to contribute in attack and defence.

The defender himself loves the way he is given space and time to express himself. While talking to BBC Sport, the young lad praised Klopp for giving him his first chance.

He said:

“He’s just good with me and helps me out when I need help. He’s helped me loads and given me my first chance so I’ll be forever grateful to him. It would be lovely [to win the Premier League] but there’s still hard work to go to get that and there’s still loads of games left.”

Bradley scored his first senior goal in January, the month when he started playing regularly in the absence of the injured Alexander-Arnold.

He also won the Carabao Cup a month later, a game in which he featured in the starting XI against Chelsea.

The Irish made his first senior debut in 2021 and was sent to Bolton Wanderers on loan. However, he returned last summer as Klopp preferred to keep him with his first team.

The waiting game has finally helped the right-back and he will be working hard to make full use of this golden period at Anfield this season.
