Promising Welsh forward Ben Woodburn is inching closer to signing a season-long loan deal with Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam.
Reports suggest that the 20-year old Liverpool FC attacker is desiring a loan move this summer to gather first-team opportunities elsewhere from Anfield. Despite Woodburn’s immense talent on the pitch, he has not been able to break into Jurgen Klopp’s squad these past few seasons.
And it seems as if the Liverpool FC’s management have decided on loaning the player out to fastrack his development on the big stage. Woodburn, who is the Anfield giants’ youngster ever goalscorer, is seen as a quality future star by Klopp, according to sources close to the club.
The Welsh international’s latest loan spell, a season-long stint at Oxford United, was blighted with consecutive injury troubles which affected his playing time on the pitch, despite a bright start to his spell time at the Kassam Stadium.
At just 20 years of age, Woodburn remains a highly propitious attacking talent for the Reds, a potential forward partner alongside fellow Kirkby academy graduate and rising star Rhian Brewster. However, for that to happen in the near future, the Welshman must make full use of his stint in Holland.
