According to recent reports, Arsenal’s new signing Willian’s weekly wage trumps what any of the Liverpool FC players earn. The ex-Chelsea winger is set to command a £220,000-per-week salary following his move to the Gunners.
The 31-year old Willian will also become the ninth-highest paid player in England’s top-flight division after agreeing to join Mikel Arteta’s side on a three-year deal ahead of next season. With such news coming to light in recent days, a look has been taken at what the star players of the Merseyside giants are earning.
None of the Anfield stars command a weekly salary equal to or more than what Willian does, reports suggest. Liverpool FC attacking duo Mohammad Salah and Sadio Mane both make £200,000-a-week, the highest among their teammates at the club. The remaining piece of the Reds famed front trio, Roberto Firmino, reportedly takes home £180,000-a-week.
Speculation in June had indicated the possibility of Virgil van Dijk becoming the highest-paid Liverpool FC player in history. The Dutch international had been widely tipped to sign a long-term contract extension with Jurgen Klopp’s side that would have led to him earning £250,000-per-week.
However, such rumors did not materialize as the 29-year old center-back is yet to extend his stay at Anfield. If Van Dijk does agree upon new terms with Liverpool FC, he would become one of the highest-paid Premier League stars.
