Liverpool table a one-year extension for veteran midfielder James Milner

Liverpool have reportedly tabled a one-year extension for veteran midfielder James Milner who is out of contract at Anfield come the summer.

Milner’s future on Merseyside beyond the end of the season continues to attract speculation with the former Manchester City man into his final six months of his current contract with Jurgen Klopp’s camp.

The 36-year-old has served as one of the most influential figures in the Liverpool fold under Klopp’s charge with Milner deputising in a host of positions, earning his credentials of ‘Mr. Reliable’.

According to a report from the Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Liverpool are hoping to tie down their utility first-team player Milner to renwed terms with a new one-year deal on the table fort the veteran English midfielder.

The likes of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, the former now managed by Anfield icon Steven Gerrard, are rumoured to be in the fray for Milner’s signature should he calls it quits at Liverpool to seek a new playing destination.
