The latest reports have revealed that Premier League giants Liverpool have opened up talks with Lille to sign Ivorian star forward Nicolas Pepe this summer transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp has done an incredible job with Liverpool ever since taking over the reins back in October 2015. The German manager guided the club to their sixth European title this summer after beating Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final.
Liverpool also attained their best ever season in the Premier League as they recorded 97 points but still finished in 2nd place as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City pipped the Reds by one solitary point. However, the 52-year-old Liverpool manager is keen on dethroning Manchester City as champions of England and ending Guardiola’s dominance in the Premier League.

Although Liverpool looks extremely solid in attack as Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane score goals on a regular basis, Liverpool wants to add more firepower and dynamism to their front line. The Champions League holders have been eyeing playmaker that can supply those inch-perfect passes to the forwards and score goals as well.
Nicolas Pepe fits the bill and the 24-year-old winger is being monitored by quite a few top clubs in the European continent including Arsenal and Atletico Madrid. But Liverpool has now opened up talks with Lille to land Pepe at Anfield.
The Ivorian attacker scored 22 goals and notched up 11 assists as well last season for the French outfit and looked like a player who would fit in comfortably at Liverpool under Klopp’s style of play.
