Liverpool target Youri Tielemans to decide against signing an extension at Leicester

Liverpool target Youri Tielemans has reportedly decided against signing an extension at Leicester City beyond the summer of 2023, according to claims from Goal.

The Belgium international is widely expected to call it quits with Brendan Rodger’s Foxes in the forthcoming summer with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United chasing his signature.

Leicester City, meanwhile, despite their initial reluctance would be forced to cash in on the midfield maestro with the boss Rodgers admitting that interest was rife in prizing away Tielemans from some of the bigger clubs across England.

With less than 18 months left to run on his current deal at the King Power Stadium, Tielemans is understood to be a top name on the shortlist for Premier League bigwigs with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool right in the mix.

The Anfield camp are keeping close tabs on the 24-year-old’s contract situation with Klopp on the hunt for reinforcements in midfield amid speculation doing the rounds that Naby Keita could be close to the exit door in the summer.
