Liverpool are set to battle their city rivals Everton for signing Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez who is out of contract come the summer of 2024.
Jurgen Klopp was on the search for a viable midfield signing this summer and despite bringing in Arthur Melo on deadline day in a loan transfer, the Liverpool head coach is expected to dip again into the market for reinforcements.
Arthur has hardly had the start to life on Merseyside he would have wanted and with his recent injury trouble in line to sideline him until 2023, Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the highly-rated La Liga midfielder Guido Rodriguez.
According to a report from Sports Witness, it is claimed that Liverpool are joined by Merseyside foes Everton in the race to land the signature of the 28-year-old Rodriguez who has been one of Betis’ top performers so far this term.
Betis are said to be looking for bids around the region of €30 million with the Spanish side in no danger of losing their first-team regular on a free transfer until the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
