Liverpool is set to make an offer for Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman this summer, as per reports from Spain.
Quite outstandingly, the 26-year-old forward, who could previously be found playing in the Premier League, turned his career around with the brilliant spell in Italy and henceforth came under the radar for many top clubs.
Lookman had a bright professional start with Charlton Athletic, which gave an overview about the potential skills.
He pulled off an impressive transfer move to Everton in 2017, but things didn’t go according to expectations.
He struggled to find his feet, and his progress got hampered. The player also played for Fulham, RB Leipzig, and Leicester City but never made huge impacts.
That turning point in Lookman’s career came with his transfer to Atalanta. He did very well under manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
He was outstanding in the last campaign, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists in 45 games across all competitions.
His best, most famous display was the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, where he led Atalanta to their first major trophy in more than six decades with a hat-trick.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool has actually been very impressed by Lookman’s Europa League final heroics and is already preparing an offer to bring him to Anfield.
Atalanta want a fee in the region of £50.7 million for their star forward, however, Liverpool will have to make some serious investment to get him on their side.
The race for Lookman’s signature will be tough. Manchester United have already been interested in him, along with Chelsea.
Interest for the Nigerian international is now at its highest, with both clubs ready to get more serious in their pursuit of Lookman, hence making the whole situation even dramatic.
He is basically a left winger, although he can play either on the right or as a secondary striker.
Added to that, he brings with him technical skills that work well together with his pace and ability to score goals.
In addition to that, he has the added advantage of having played in the Premier League.

It is, however, still unclear whether Lookman would want to go to Liverpool, who are the Merseyside rivals of Everton, his former club.
The fact that Liverpool has shown interest in Lookman is a measure of their ambition to strengthen the squad with established talent.
Securing Lookman’s services to get him on board could eventually be key with yet another competitive season looming ahead.
With a few top clubs vying for his signature, the race to sign Ademola Lookman has been one of the most interesting storylines this summer transfer window is offering.
