Liverpool to offer Alisson Becker new deal upon his return from national duty

Alisson Becker is set to be handed a new extended contract at Anfield with Jurgen Klopp’s side keen to tie down their first-choice shot-stopper to a long-term future in the Liverpool shirt.

The Brazillian international enjoyed a superb end to this past season as he helped the Reds clinch Champions League qualification not only through his work between the sticks but even finding the back of the net in that dramatic win over West Brom.

Reports from BBC claim that Liverpool are waiting for the 28-year-old Alisson to return to the club’s fold following his Copa America commitments with the Brazillian squad after which they intend to enter into negotiations with him over a new contract offer.

Liverpool are understood to be quite eager on offering a host of their first-team star regulars extended terms this summer with the hope of heading into the next season with a bunch of players who will be raring to reclaim Premier League glory.

Besides Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Mohammad Salah are also on Klopp’s radar to be offered long-term deals with a substantial wage bump which will make them the highest earners in the club’s history.
