Liverpool to rival Chelsea’s interest in Barca contract rebel Ousmane Dembele

Liverpool are said to rival Chelsea’s interest in Barca contract rebel Ousmane Dembele who will make a decision over his future soon.

The French international wide player is out of contract at Camp Nou come June 30 and despite Barcelona boss Xavi pushing for him to sign a new deal, Dembele has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.

According to a report from Sport, it is claimed that both Chelsea and Liverpool are leading the race for the ex-Dortmund attacker which could set the stage for an exciting contest off the field between two of the biggest top flight clubs in England.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side have been credited with an interest in landing Dembele in the past but with the German coach forking out a club-record fee to sign Darwin Nunez this summer, the Dembele links had been on the backburner as of late.

Mohamed Salah’s future at Anfield hanging in the balance, however, could ensure that Liverpool maintain a firm interest in Dembele’s services with the injury-prone winger viewed as a viable replacement for the former.
