Liverpool are said to be unwilling to sanction Harvey Elliott’s exit on loan for the forthcoming campaign despite considerable interest in the teenager from “established top-flight sides”.
The youngster is expected to play a major role for his side in the 2022-23 season which kicks off next month with the Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp asserting that there was no need to bring in a new midfield player this summer.
Klopp’s remarks included lavish praise of Elliott’s ability to turn out in the centre of the park, which was evident in the early part of last season before a nasty injury left the former Fulham starlet serving a long spell on the sidelines.
According to a report from The Times’ Paul Joyce, Liverpool have dismissed offers that have come their way from Premier League sides wanting to move in for the 19-year-old Elliott in a loan deal.
It remains to be seen what lies in store for the much promising England under-21 international who is backed to make a lasting impression this time around following his return from injury that forced him to sit out a major chunk of the previous campaign.
