Liverpool urged to re-sign Gini Wijnaldum by former Anfield man Stan Collymore

Liverpool have been urged to re-sign Gini Wijnaldum by former Anfield man Stan Collymore just a summer into the former’s move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Holland international was unable to renew terms with the Liverpool camp despite the boss Jurgen Klopp’s repeated attempts to tie down his midfield general to a new long-term deal.

Wijnaldum’s stint in the French capital, however, has not been an easy one so far and there is talk doing the rounds that the Parisians are looking to offload the player in the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Arsenal have been credited with a strong interest in the former Reds first-team star but Stan Collymore, while speaking to The Daily Mirror, has claimed that Liverpool should throw their hat in the ring for the Dutchman.

Collymore said that the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be in line for a great piece of transfer business should he land the signature of his former midfield man who would fit right into the scheme of things on Merseyside.

“Wijnaldum is having a proper wobbler at Paris Saint-Germain and, despite the fact he’s earning a king’s ransom, if I were Jurgen Klopp I’d chance my arm with a cheeky low-ball offer to try to get him back to Liverpool.

“He’s 32 in November, the same age as Jordan Henderson and four years younger than James Milner, and he’d be a great player for the youngsters at Anfield such as Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones to learn from, too.
