Van Dijk Has A Warning For Paris Saint Germain

Liverpool star defender Virgil Van Dijk has sent out a warning to Paris Saint Germain stating that the visitors are not afraid of facing their Champions League counterparts.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds make the trip to the French capital on Wednesday night hoping to register another victory against Thomas Tuchel’s Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League. The Merseyside club came away with all three points during their first clash at Anfield earlier this season after Roberto Firmino came off the bench to score the winning goal and make it 3-2 late in the game.

However, Liverpool will be traveling to a hostile environment in Paris as the Ligue 1 giants will be looking to end their disastrous campaigns in the Champions League hoping to get past their tricky group. But Liverpool centre-back Virgil Van Dijk has revealed that he is not afraid of anyone but he rather feels confident about getting a result after reaching the Champions League final last term.

While speaking to the Express, the 27-year-old Dutchman stated that he respects his opponents but doesn’t fear anything ahead of the challenge he faces at the Parc Des Princes, “I don’t have any fear. We respect them as a team but we want to win the game. We are going to totally up for it, motivated and we will make sure we are ready from the start. We don’t need to forget that we are one of the best teams in Europe as well. We reached the final last year and we want to do at least the same this year. That’s our goal. So we are going to try and beat them.”

Van Dijk insisted that there is always a bit of pressure while donning the Liverpool jersey but he just wants to enjoy his football, “I think at a club like Liverpool you always feel a bit of pressure. You should do. But it doesn’t bother me. I just want to play. I want to enjoy the games because not a lot of people have the chance to do what we do.”

Van Dijk seems absolutely fearless and brave, which is one of his best traits according to me. He seems confident but also with his feet on the ground which explains that he is really one of the best central defenders in the world as he has helped Liverpool’s back line immensely.
