Liverpool kick off their Champions League group stage campaign by welcoming Serie A bigwigs AC Milan to Anfield on Wednesday night.
The Merseysiders have clinched the trophy six times while their forthcoming opponents from Italy have secured it on seven occasions which makes for a tremendous contest between two of Europe’s most successful teams.
Jurgen Klopp’s men turned up in style in their previous outing which came at Elland Road last weekend with a 3-0 scoreline recorded against a 10-man Leeds United side.
The Liverpool boss will be hoping for something similar when AC Milan make the travels to Anfield in the midweek contest which gets underway the new Champions League campaign for either side.

A major concern on the injury front for Liverpool post the Leeds United clash was the teenager Harvey Elliott who was stretchered off the pitch with an ankle injury.
Elliott remains in line to be sidelined for the next 4-6 months which will come as a major blow to Jurgen Klopp who also has the likes of Roberto Firmino and Neco Williams injured heading into Wednesday’s showdown.
