Liverpool vs Burnley Predicted Lineup and Preview | EPL 19-20

After picking three points on their visit to Brighton, Liverpool FC now play hosts to Burnley on Saturday afternoon. The Reds will go up against a robust Clarets side, knowing three wins out of their remaining four fixtures are enough to beat the 100-points record in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have hit top form of late with victories against Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion. Anfield has been a fortress for the Reds in recent times and Burnley would be cautious in their approach against the hosts come Saturday.

Liverpool FC have not lost a single game at Anfield throughout the campaign, with the only two losses for the Reds’ coming on their travels away from home. Moreover, the Merseyside club can become the first team in Premier League history to win all their home games in a single campaign if they manage to secure victories against Burnley and next week’s opponents Chelsea.

However, it has to be noted that Burnley too have in fine form recently. The Clarets are on a four-game unbeaten streak, out of which three games have been won by them. Currently sitting ninth in the league table, Sean Dyche’s side have an outside chance of securing Europa League football for next season.

TEAM NEWS

The Premier League champions could face Burnley in the absence of skipper Jordan Henderson. The 29-year old midfielder injured his knee in the Reds’ last game against Brighton following a nasty collision.

Jurgen Klopp had stated that a further assessment had to be made of Henderson’s injury, following which a decision would be made on whether to play the midfielder against Burnley.

James Milner returned from his injury and had replaced Henderson on the pitch in the game at the Amex Stadium. The 34-year old could start the game on Saturday afternoon in place of the injured Liverpool FC skipper.

Dejan Lovren could miss the game against Burnley too due to a knock suffered earlier by the Croatian centre-back. Having missed Liverpool FC’s last three games, Lovren is a doubt for Saturday’s fixture as well.

As for the visitors, Sean Dyche may not be able to call upon Ben Mee, with the centre-back currently recovering from a hamstring injury.

Striker Chris Wood had returned to the Clarets side last week after having been sidelined for quite some time due to injury issues. The 28-year old could be a name on the starting lineup that plays against the Reds at Anfield this Saturday.
