Loris Karius could head back to Anfield in January after horrid loan spell in Germany

Another horror loan spell away from Anfield could be ending soon for Liverpool FC outcast Loris Karius as recent reports from the Daily Mail claim that the German goalkeeper is on the verge of returning to the Merseyside outfit as early as next month.

Karius joined the Bundesliga club this summer on a season-long loan agreement as Jurgen Klopp had been tipped to offload the shot-stopper due to Adrian staking his claim as Alisson Becker’s deputy in the Liverpool FC goal.

However, since signing for the top-flight side in his homeland, Karius has been forced to play second fiddle to the 33-year-old Andreas Luthe for Urs Fischer’s men who have enjoyed a superb start to their Bundesliga campaign, occupying the sixth position in the league standings.

A sole start in three months between the sticks for Fischer’s’s side is likely to mean that Karius would push through for an exit from his loan club as he strives for more game-time in order to resurrect his career which has been on a downward spiral since his horrid showing for the Reds in the 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League final.

With Jurgen Klopp’s first-team ranks at Anfield boasting of names such as Adrian and Caoimhín Kelleher, besides the Liverpool FC No.1 Alisson, Karius’s integration to the senior squad fold seems highly uncertain, giving rise to the possibility of the Merseysiders offloading the German on a permanent basis next summer.
