Manchester United confident of beating Liverpool to the signing of Matheus Nunes

Manchester United are reportedly confident of beating Liverpool to the signing of Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes in this summer’s transfer window.

Nunes has courted significant interest from Liverpool in the past and the Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Midlands before the start of the next season.

According to a report from Football Insider, it is claimed that Manchester United are hopeful that they pip arch-rivals Liverpool to Nunes’ signature this summer with the Red Devils emerging as serious contenders for the Wolves man.

Wolves’ asking price for Nunes is expected to be in the region of €40-45 million and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool would step up their efforts to sign the former Sporting Lisbon man as Jurgen Klopp looks to overhaul his midfield options.

Recent reports have suggested that Liverpool have ended their pursuit of the sought-after Jude Bellingham with the Merseysiders expected to shift their attention towards the likes of Mason Mount and Alexis Mac Allister.
