Speculation is rife that Liverpool’s main man on the pitch Mohamed Salah is after a £500,000 a week wage to put pen to paper on a long-term extension at Anfield.
Salah’s future in the Liverpool shirt has become the subject of much talk in recent times with the likes of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona rumoured to be keeping tabs on the Egypt international forward.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, however, has asserted time and again that he expects Salah to stay put on Merseyside and it is understood that the former AS Roma man is next on Klopp’s list to be handed a new deal following in the footsteps of his star teammates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold among others.
Reports from The Daily Mirror have claimed that the 29-year-old Salah is seeking a massive bump in his current wages, believed to be in the region of £200,000 a week, to agree on extended terms at Anfield.
Salah remains Liverpool’s most influential performer and a contract extension for the Egyptian, which is eagerly awaited by a large section of the club’s fanbase, will do wonders for the Reds in fending off other sides showing interest in the player.
